Corporate Finance and Planning are a team of 30 finance professionals organized in five dynamic teams that are focused on delivering high quality materials to a variety of audiences. Following a restructure last year and staff promotions, retirements, and relocations, we are recruiting six enthusiastic individuals with varying levels of experience and skillsets, who are enjoying success in their current roles. We are seeking candidates who are highly engaged, enjoy a challenge, have a commitment to excellence and a desire to join our Finance team at Rotary, a leading international non-profit organization supporting rotary clubs worldwide by coordinating local and global humanitarian programs and initiatives with an annual revenue of $450M and assets exceeding $1 billion.
These rewarding roles encompass financial research, accounting, budgeting, analysis, forecasting and project management. We support executive management, our committees, and two Boards with a team dedicated to high quality work in an exciting, deadline driven and often fast-paced environment. Experience in large international organization and/or experience in a non-profit, non-government organization is a plus.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and driven individual looking to work with an outstanding team. You will be a valued member of our first-rate Corporate Finance & Planning team which is responsible for a full spectrum within Financial Services including accounting, reporting and financial statements, analysis and modeling, and systems administration as well as budgeting and forecasting. This may include opportunities to work with our International Offices, Associate Foundation and fiscal agents as well as travel. This rewarding role includes oversight of accounting and budgeting processes, provides unique support to the management team by serving as a leader on projects including cross functional teams, deputizing your manager for meetings, improving processes, becoming the subject matter expert for your assigned areas of responsibility and developing a strategic awareness of matters impacting both Rotary International and The Rotary Foundation where your knowledge and deliverables support organizational and strategic decisions.
Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting required
CPA or advanced degree a plus
8 plus years of finance or accounting experience
Project management skills a plus
Experience working with Excel is essential
Strong leadership and problem solving abilities including the ability to connects the dots from different responsibilities and projects
Multi-tasker, good time management, able to prioritize and manage a complex workload and competing deliverables

Knowledge and Skills
Proven experience with month-end close processes and production and review of financial statements with proven knowledge and understanding of financial accounting principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Proficiency in performing data analysis to support business decisions through financial modeling, graphical presentation, and analytical writing as well as the ability to build financial models from scratch, and write the financial ‘story’
Work effectively in unstructured and changing environment with a strong service orientation with demonstrated sense of urgency when required and capable of establishing and maintaining relationships with business partners
Display proven facilitation skills and ability to coordinate projects as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills with accurate grammar and spelling
Proven experience in creating financial presentations and effectively communicate complex messages in a logical and concise manner for a non-financial audience.
Proficient with computer software and excel spreadsheets and preferred experience with SAP Business Objects, PeopleSoft, nVision, MS Excel, Macros, MS-PowerPoint
Specific Duties may include Financial Accounting, Financial Statements, Audit, Monthly and Annual reporting, Taxation and Information Filings
Review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and provide support in preparation of monthly financial statements including variance explanations and timely reporting
Assist in external audit process including audited financial statements preparation and footnotes
Be the subject matter expert for assigned functional areas including working with business managers and analysts to prepare variance explanations as required
Prepare specialized accounting, reporting, or projects as assigned
Financial Analysis and Presentation and Contract Review
Assists or develops appropriate dashboard metrics, key analytics/performance measurements, analysis, financial impacts and PowerPoint presentations for various audiences including Board, Trustees and committee meetings
Track and report on key initiatives by working with staff and project managers
Understand the Code of Policy, maintain current knowledge of Board and Trustee decisions relevant to budget preparation and reporting responsibilities, and overall financial reporting policies and procedures
Represent Finance in the contract review process and development of contracts, partnership agreements, memoranda of understanding, gift agreements, etc.
Coordinate and lead training for the budget process with Corporate Finance and Planning managers, for department managers and budget preparers and provide information and tools for non-finance staff
Work with business managers in the development and review of budgets and forecasts and provide insightful analytics to support financial decision making and financial impact statements
Contribute to the development of budget materials including draft budgets, budget book, and PowerPoint presentations and assist the Senior Director of Finance, CFP managers, and CFO during presentation of the budget to the Board and Trustee and senior management
Financial Research and Support for Boards and Committees
Assist Corporate Finance and Planning managers with preparation for Finance Committee meetings, agenda, meeting materials and minutes
Perform accounting research on financial activities as directed by manager including developing White Papers where appropriate
Contribute to knowledge base regarding non-profit accounting standards (GAAP) and develop recommendations to changes in accounting policies and procedures accordingly
Review financial implications of items for the Board, Trustees, or Committees to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with organizational policies and procedures, and develop business case analysis and financial impacts as required.
Supervisory Responsibility None
Budget Responsibility No direct management responsibility. Senior Financial Analyst/Accountant II -Specialist assist management in departmental budget planning and preparation.
