Wespath Benefits and Investments, recognized as one of “Chicago’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For®” in 2017, has an opportunity for a Managing Director, Accounting / Controller to provide oversight and control of the organization’s accounting and financial reporting functions. The MD ensures appropriate internal control of the organization’s assets and provides timely, accurate and relevant financial budgeting, reporting and analysis.
More specifically, the Managing Director, Accounting/Controller will have the opportunity to:
Provide vision, leadership, direction, and management to the Treasury department
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including high quality analysis of operations, investment funds and plans
Develop, monitor and ensure accurate internal control structure
Oversee investment valuation, accounting and cash management.
Manage the preparation and administration of the annual operating and capital budgets
Manage the annual external audit
Train, mentor, and coach
Support the senior management team in strategic analysis and execution
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or equivalent work experience
Broad financial background with leadership experience in accounting, financial planning and analysis and financial reporting- preferably in financial services or investment management
10 years of accounting or related experience
7 years supervisory experience
MBA or other advanced degree in accounting, finance, or economics
Prior benefits experience with a strong commitment to internal control
Experience with Six Sigma or equivalent process management methodology with Green Belt certification a plus
Auditing experience, preferably in the financial services industry
