The National Restaurant Association, one of the most influential business associations, is looking to add a Senior Accountant to their Chicago Finance team. If you have your CPA (or are in the process), and have previous experience working with non-profit accounting, we’d like to hear from you!
As a Senior Accountant you will be responsible for preparing monthly financial statements, project and variance reports, and account reconciliations, as well as assisting in preparation of budgets and forecasts.
Ideal candidates bring minimum 2-3 years in related management and/or public accounting, plus a strong collaborative and client-service spirit.

Work as part of the accounting team to accomplish Association goals.
Assist Manager, Financial Reporting, to accomplish departmental goals.
Prepare the month-end close and issue monthly financial statements to management, including variance analysis of assets and liabilities. As needed, meet with departmental heads to review and discuss results.
Prepare monthly account reconciliations.
Support internal team members and departments following the Association mission and values while promoting Association culture.
Prepare project reports as needed. Prepare year-end financial statements and assist in the audit process with the independent public accountants.
Assist in preparing the yearly budget and monthly forecast, as needed, including working individually with departmental managers to obtain and review data submitted or revised.
Assist with special projects as needed.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or Finance required. CPA strongly preferred.
2-3 years of related management and public accounting experience.
2-3 years not-for-profit accounting highly desirable.
Strong accounting and analytical skills, plus technical ability working in financial information systems including Microsoft (Great Plains) Dynamics, (including familiarity with fixed assets and project accounting); and Adaptive Insights.
Highly proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office products. Ability to learn other computer software programs as needed.
Ability to enter and maintain accurate data/information.
