The Staff Accountant role is part of the General Ledger accounting team responsible for month end close and related activities. Responsibilities in the close include account reconciliation and analysis activities on a sub-set of General Ledger accounts. Also involved in quarterly forecasting process and preparation of footnotes for SEC reporting.
Perform month/quarter close tasks such as balancing account reconciliations and posting journal entries
Prepare actual-to-forecast variance analyses on certain accounts to assist the Financial Control Leads in their review of segment and practice financials
Provide annual budgeting/forecasting information for certain accounts to be used by the FP&A function
Assist in the review and preparation of footnotes and schedules for annual and quarterly SEC filings
Compile audit support schedules for internal/external auditors upon request
Special and on-going projects, as needed
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA or progress toward CPA designation a plus
Experience performing accounting activities, such as account reconciliations and analysis, preparation of financial statements, and application of accounting policies
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required
Demonstrate ability to exercise independent judgment
Must be able to balance multiple tasks simultaneously and work comfortably in a deadline-driven environment
Ability to interact effectively with other departments
Ability to work independently and take ownership of multiple concurrent and diversified tasks, while working within deadlines
