As part of the team, you will manage and perform accounting functions including revenue realization, expense accruals and inventory valuation related to AMA business product lines. You will ensure that all accounting functions are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, internal controls, business contracts and Association policy and procedures.
Other Responsibilities will include:
Manage the accounting responsibilities for a $200 million royalty business, including contract review, revenue recognition and royalty receipts
Maintain and oversee the general ledger set-up of the royalty system ?
Liaise with internal business units and Finance including Operations, Sales, Credit, Reporting and Tax for collection of accounts receivable and provides monthly reporting on revenues and tax.
Provide accounting support and guidance for AMA business groups
Manage the accounting for business-related accounting activities on a monthly basis
Maintain the accounting records of the Association’s business units on a current basis in accordance with GAAP and internal objectives for accurate interim and final financial statements
?Prepare and analyze financial trends on selected revenue, expense and balance sheet accounts
Develop and perform financial analyses on revenue and expense activities on major product lines for the monthly financial close, quarterly business reviews, forecasts and budget
Work with business units to understand events effecting business operations
Lead, mentor and provide management oversight for professional staff
Responsible for setting objectives, evaluating performance and developing staff
Identify opportunities for advancing staff skills and expertise
May include other responsibilities as assigned
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field require; CPA preferred
Minimum 5 years of professional accounting preferably with an emphasis in revenue recognition
Minimum 3 years’ experience managerial experience; proven manager capable of selecting, developing and motivating staff
Current knowledge of accounting literature and industry or public accounting experience required
Demonstrated experience with financial software packages including Infor (Lawson) and Essbase preferred and working knowledge of royalty revenue software is required
Demonstrated experience applying company policies and procedures to resolve issues within defined accounting procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management
Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong planning and organizing skills required; must meet commitments and deadlines
