The successful candidate will serve our clients’ bookkeeping, accounting, consulting, and tax compliance needs. The CPA will have an active role in developing new business and maximizing the power of our current technology structure & implementing cost effective IT/AI improvements.
Responsible for preparation and review of income tax returns for individuals and companies in accordance with policies and in compliance with legislation and regulations. Identify potential tax credits, deductions, and liabilities and ensure accurate and complete returns are filed in a timely manner.
Responsible for employment and sales tax preparation and review for businesses, fiduciaries and non-profit organizations.
Provide additional client service including business plans, write up, and tax resolution.
Responsible for practice development including lead generation.
Professionally represent the Firm in professional & service organizations that will further demonstrate technical expertise.
Develop the Firm’s reputation through conducting seminars, speeches, & similar activities; establishing personal networks.
Maintain steady contact with clients by developing executive level relationships.
Deal directly with client bankers, attorneys, and other advisors.
Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential.
Implement approved methods for improving the firm’s media presence.
Maximize the firm’s technological capabilities.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational seminars; reviewing professional publications.
Identify opportunities for improvement, provide information and recommendations to management and follow-through on approved solutions.
Coach & mentor junior level staff and managers.
Monitor client account balances and assist with collections when necessary.
Qualifications and Skills:
BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA and/or EA certification with active standing.
1-4 years of current public accounting experience, including tax preparation and planning.
Ability to represent clientele before the IRS & state tax authorities.
Proficiency with IT, computerized tax software such as Lacerte, accounting software including QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office.
Ability to develop a referral base; identify targets and convert targets to clients.
Strong client and employee rapport & project management skills.
Strong communication (verbal & written) skills with an emphasis on the ability to articulate complex tax & financial information to all levels of clients.
Effective interpersonal skills with respect to collaboration, influence, negotiations and conflict resolution.
