The ideal candidate is an accounting professional with minimum 7 years full-charge bookkeeping and tax preparation experience with a public CPA firm and is seeking career opportunity with stable and growing CPA practice providing professional services to local and regional client base.
Note: All potential candidates for this position will be subject to a tax return competency test using Intuit Pro Series “Professional” tax software and either Quick Books desktop or Quick Books Online applications.
Full-time hours are available for this position during extended tax season hours from January through April and again September through October. Part-time hours available the remainder of the year but can grow into year-round full-time. This position reports directly to the Firm Owner. Salary and benefits are negotiable. For the proven candidate, an opportunity to move into an equity position with the firm will be considered within the next 2 years and thus preference will be given to a candidate that demonstrates the capability to grow into increased responsibilities with the Firm and contributes towards an increased gain of new business for the Firm.
Working under the supervision of firm’s President, this team member will provide comprehensive assistance to clients in all phases of their accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
- BA/BS degree in accounting
- CPA or EA designation
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
- Heavy user of QuickBooks accounting software (both desktop and QBO)
- Experienced user of Intuit Pro Series “Professional” tax software with strong preference to users with preparing Partnership and Trust filings
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in written correspondence with a variety of clients
- Strong work ethic and a high level of determination and professionalism
- Ability to proactively assist clients with their business/accounting operations
- Demonstrated meticulous attention to detail
- Demonstrated strong computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Ability to thrive while working as part of a team yet able to work independently
- Self-managing and able to multi-task, without detriment to each activity
- Well organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and to manage time effectively
