Department Profile
The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records, and by contributing to firm wide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley's various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team.
Team Profile
Regulatory Controllers is a global team operating within the finance division responsible for the production, monitoring and reporting of regulatory capital information. The Financial Resources Team forms part of Regulatory Controllers and supports Morgan Stanley businesses in understanding, challenging and optimizing their capital resources.
Primary Responsibilities include: - Analyze and understand the drivers to Risk Weighted Asset (RWA), Balance Sheet and Business Required Capital for the region, explain to Business Unit / management (BU) on the analysis. - Estimate the key components of capital forecasts including RWA and leverage exposure measures. - Produce capital impact analysis to support business decisions and facilitate the approval of large transactions. Impacts will include activities such as resource optimization initiatives, trade booking model changes, regulatory rule changes and new business activity. - Respond to ad hoc business requests of capital from BU / senior management. - Establish and maintain active working relationships across Global finance teams, including collaboration with global and local finance teams to provide comprehensive analysis to BU. - Engage with key partners across divisions including Risk and BU.
