Brief Description of the Organization and Role:
Citi Global Wealth (CGW) is an integration of Citi Private Bank and the Consumer Wealth organization into a single platform enabling Citi to serve its clients across the wealth spectrum and capitalize on Citi's industry leading capabilities to support the goal of CGW, which is to be the leading wealth management provider globally. As we embark on this journey, it is imperative to have a strong Risk & Control framework, supporting this goal through an independent but integral Internal Control organization.
This role will support the development and implementation of the Citi Global Wealth Model Risk Framework and the delegated model risk point of contact for CAO Risk and Controls - Asia Pacific.
This role will ultimately report to the Head of CGW Business Risk & Controls and will matrix report into the Head of Risk and Controls - CGW Asia.
Responsibilities:
Support the development and implementation of Citi Global Wealth's Model Risk management program.
Partner with the integrated Wealth businesses, Model Risk Management, and other relevant groups to develop and execute model risk-related projects/ initiatives.
Oversee the Identification and Assessment of key risks related to model usage.
Ensure model risks within CGW are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled, consistent with the bank's risk appetite statement and all policies and processes established within the risk governance framework.
Developing and establishing model risk management procedures to mitigate risks. Monitor and measure model risk through a robust control framework and ensure that reviews are conducted consistently across CGW on a regular basis to confirm that controls identified are operating effectively.
Prepare materials and provide updates for relevant governance forums and lead relevant model risk management discussions.
Partner with Model Risk Management and business sponsors to maintain a comprehensive inventory of models implemented and in use, models under development, and models recently retired to document the overall level of model usage.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
10+ years of experience, including at least 5 years in Financial services with experience in Risk Management, Model Risk Management, Audit or Compliance.
Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills (a must) and the ability to translate complex concepts in a concise manner
Demonstrated leader capable of driving change
Ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced, dynamic environment
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Understanding of timely and high-quality regulatory deliverables
Strong relationship management skills with ability to deepen relationships and build partnerships across geographies and lines of business
Strong communication, reporting, presentation and influencing skills
Detail oriented, with proven ability to question and identify opportunities within existing processes and business practices
Education:
Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience in a highly quantitative field (e.g., Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering), potentially Master's degree
