Team / Division Overview
The DWS CAO Division comprises the AFC & Compliance, Client & Investment Monitoring, Corporate Governance, Human Resources (HR) and Legal departments.
As part of Client & Investment Monitoring, the Governance & Controls team supports all areas of the CAO Division worldwide. Among other things, the team is responsible for topics relating to financial planning, resource planning & management, business continuity management (BCM), strategic CAO projects, business management and the associated operational processes.
With this permanent position we are looking for a candidate to cover all aspects of Business Management for the AFC & Compliance department, including, but not limited to, governance and oversight of the process for AFC & Compliance, budgeting process and resource management, Third Party Risk Management process and project management, vendor oversight, maintaining of IGSAs. The role will support the Governance & Controls function for CAO and the Leadership team of the AFC & Compliance department.
Role Details
As a Business Manager, you will (be):
Establishment and further development of a governance and policy framework for the DWS Legal department and continuous adaptation of the function to regulatory requirements;
General project management work as well as proactive problem analysis and development of proposed solutions to eliminate data, reporting and process gaps, including development of policies, procedures and KODs
Support of the Global COO and Head of AFC & Compliance in all strategic matters in coordination with Finance, Tax, Compliance, HR and other central functions as well as experts from all parts of the DWS/DB Group
Considering Resource Planning & Management, support the AFC & Compliance department in all aspects of vendor management (DWS Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) and DB Vendor Risk Management (VRM))
DWS cost allocation overview of received services and downstream cost allocations, conducting cost reviews, reviewing KPIs and monitoring budget against actual spend
We are looking for:
University degree/University of Applied Sciences degree; Alternatively, completed commercial training with appropriate further training (banking business administration, MBA, CFA, etc.)
Multiple years of experience in Business Management, highly desirable if for an AFC & Compliance department
General experience within the asset management industry and an understanding of the asset management value chain as well as the different functions and responsibilities would be an advantage
Good knowledge of investment products of the DWS business areas would be an advantage
Profound experience in project management and change management; Experience and knowledge of agile working methods would be an advantage
Strong communication skills in English and German as well as the ability to work together across departments
Confident handling and coordination of requirements in a global team
Strong analytical skills, as well as the ability to communicate challenging issues to different stakeholders to develop suitable solutions
Empathy in dealing with others as well as the preservation and balancing of different interests in the context of service provision
Self-driven for personal development and independent way of working

The salary range for this position in New York City $84,000 to $145,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of renumeration
