Our client is a successful private equity fund dedicated to climate impact investments. They are accelerating industrial decarbonization by investing in mid-sized climate solution providers and supporting their green growth trajectory. The role is based in Munich, Germany and allows for a flexible home office arrangement. What the job involves
Lead and manage all aspects of financial operations, encompassing accounting, controlling, reporting, taxes, compliance, risk management, and administration
Contribute to the development of financial strategies and long-term financial planning
Provide insights and recommendations to optimize fund performance
Oversee the preparation and delivery of budgets, forecasts, and monthly management accounts
Create monthly reports for portfolio companies, as well as investor reports
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Evaluate KPIs at the portfolio company and at fund level
Take responsibility for cash flow and liquidity management
Supervise all payments and ensure the appropriate allocation of costs
Handle all taxation matters, including VAT, corporation tax, and other fiscal matters, collaborating with advisers to ensure the most efficient tax structures are in place
Supervise the annual audits for all group entities
Manage data maintenance for portfolio companies
Assist in investor relations matters, ensuring transparent communication with investors and handling ad hoc investor inquiries, as well as participating in fundraising activities
Manage various administrative matters, such as payroll, HR, and other payments
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
Monitor and ensure adherence to ESG processes and reports (e.g. SFDR)
Continuously develop and optimize internal processes and structures
Act as a contact person for portfolio companies regarding selected financial matters
Serve as a main point of contact for external service providers, such as auditors, tax consultants, and banks
Who we are looking for
University degree in finance, business administration, or related disciplines
Significant relevant work experience in a finance/controlling position, preferably within the finance function of a PE/VC fund or in the audit/accounting advisory department of a Big4 or consulting firm
Experience in creating financial statements
Prior exposure to risk management and compliance is welcome
Outstanding accounting and controlling capabilities
Excellent MS Office skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint
Knowledge of regulatory matters, including Bafin and GWG, is beneficial
Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to work
Proactive and hands-on approach, accustomed to working independently, with an entrepreneurial mindset
Team player with an open-minded personality
Strong communication and presentation skills, with fluency in both German and English
