The Education department is seeking a Business Systems Analyst who will play a primary role in supporting projects with data-related needs and supporting strategy development for the collection, analysis, management, and communication of data and metrics to all stakeholders. The Analyst will ensure the quality and integrity of data from multiple sources throughout the museum and will generate reports and analysis that rely on this data as needed. This position will particularly focus on programs that serve children and youth ages 2-21.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Interpret and evaluate user needs, gather and analyze relevant data and develop these into appropriately detailed system workflows or new application requirements.
Develop and maintain relationships with end-users to understand requirements.
Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
Define components, interfaces, modules, data, and architecture for applications to satisfy specified requirements.
Create and maintain documentation for workflow, operating procedures and system administration.
Contribute technical skills to projects such as the implementation of business intelligence and data visualization tools, MS SQL database and data warehouse development, ETL processes, statistical analysis, Excel automation through VBA, etc.
Assist in day-to-day coordination of entering and updating program participants and their application and enrollment data into multiple internal database applications for approximately 2,500 students annually.
Monitor systems to ensure data integrity, consistency and accuracy.
Create compelling quarterly reports that demonstrate key attributes of students reached.
The expected salary range for the Business Systems Analyst is $80,000/annual - $90,000/annual. The AMNH offers an extensive benefits package designed to meet the needs of our dedicated and diverse community.
Pay will be determined based on several factors. The hiring range for the position at commencement is based on the type of work and the scope of responsibilities. The salary and placement offered is based on a number of individualized factors, including, but not limited to, skills, knowledge, training, education, credentials, areas of specialization and depth and scope of experience.

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, or Computer Science.
A certification in SQL or other programming language(s).
Working knowledge of Access.
Working knowledge of VBA.
Familiarity with CRM systems.
