As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CFO will oversee all financial functions, ensuring operational excellence and compliance within a complex regulatory environment. Responsibilities:
Provide strategic financial leadership aligned with the health center’s mission and long-term objectives.
Oversee all accounting and financial operations, maintaining compliance with GAAP, federal cost principles, and FQHC requirements.
Develop, implement, and monitor annual operational and capital budgets in collaboration with the executive team.
Prepare and present timely financial reports for grants, contracts, and funding sources.
Manage revenue cycle operations, including billing, collections, and reimbursement from Medicaid, Medicare, and other payers.
Monitor cash flow, oversee banking relationships, and perform reconciliation of accounts.
Lead financial forecasting, analyze revenue and expenditure trends, and provide data-driven recommendations.
Ensure robust internal controls and risk management processes.
Supervise and cultivate fiscal department staff through hiring, training, and performance management.
Present financial updates to the Board and executive leadership.
Evaluate and implement technology solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
Support organizational growth with sound financial planning, scenario modeling, and sustainable investment strategies.
Requirements:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is mandatory.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration; Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, or similar) preferred.
5–10+ years of progressive financial leadership, ideally within FQHC, nonprofit healthcare, or community health settings.
Proven experience managing complex budgets, grants, and federal reimbursements.
Extensive knowledge of value-based care, healthcare compliance, HRSA, and federal funding mechanisms.
Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to develop and lead high-performing teams.
