The Financial Analyst is a key member of the Finance team, responsible for delivering comprehensive financial support across reporting, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning. This role requires a strong understanding of the colleges academic and clinical operations to produce accurate, timely, and actionable financial insights.
The position develops, maintains, and optimizes complex financial reports, scorecards, and analytical models; conducts in-depth financial analysis to inform management decision-making; and ensures compliance with internal and external reporting requirements. The analyst supports and performs highly complex budgeting and forecasting activities totaling more than $70 million across 39 cost centers, including clinical operations, and prepares accurate projections and scenario-planning models. In addition, the role supports long-range financial planning efforts, assists in the development and maintenance of reserve models to ensure adequate capital funding, collaborates with cross-functional partners across the college and university, and provides coverage for financial operations as needed. The Financial Analyst also supports audits and special projects and utilizes tools including Microsoft Excel, Workday, RAE, Tableau, PI Portal, TAS, and Adaptive Planning.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience performing financial reporting, analysis, and modeling in a large, complex organization.
Demonstrated ability to create and leverage reporting, analytic, forecasting, and modeling tools, including the development of financial projections for scenario planning.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively both cross-functionally and independently with minimal oversight.
Desired Qualifications:
Two to four (24) years of experience performing financial reporting, analysis, and modeling in a higher education environment
OSU experience strongly preferred.
Experience with Adaptive Planning and extensive knowledge and understanding of the FDM structure preferred.
Thorough understanding of fiscal processes and their impact on general ledger data.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and competing deadlines efficiently.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, with exceptional attention to detail.
Pay Range: $58,700- $77,200
Salary will be based off of education, experience, internal equity, and budget allowance.
