The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for preparing consolidated financial statements and other accounting statements and reports, including management reports. The incumbent will review and verify the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications.
Job Responsibilities:
Prepares monthly journal entries, consolidating entries and month-end analyses.
Responsible for various exhibits and commentary required for reports issued to management, outside Directors and government agencies.
Coordinates typing, proofreading, issuance and filing of reports
Prepares and analyzes distribution and storage costs
Evaluates and recommends improvements to accounting procedures and systems.
Reconciles and analyses intercompany activity.
Provides guidance to other accounting staff.
Assists with special projects, year-end activities and related duties
Prepares reconciliations of inventory
Successful incumbents will have:
College degree in accounting
3-5 years of accounting experience, CPA preferred
Ability to understand and follow detailed instructions
Ability to function effectively while meeting deadlines
Strong interpersonal, communication and administrative skills
Proficient with Microsoft Windows environment and have an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Applications
Familiarity with SAP systems is a plus
Position Scope/Contribution:
Contact with CF manufacturing locations occurs routinely. Incumbents in this position use and know well the fundamental accounting concepts and practices. Under supervision, they apply established methods/procedures to perform work that is often varied and may be somewhat difficult. Instructions are detailed, but incumbents are expected to function more independently than entry-level accountants.

Understands and complies with established departmental processes and procedures designed to support internal controls efforts. Identifies and brings to the attention of department management internal controls deficiencies.
