The person in this role will support the leader of the enterprise corporate risk and insurance management area. Scope includes risks of American Family but also all of its growing number of operating companies. Current program includes large deducible policies and, in some instances, full retention of risk.
Preferred candidates will have:
Large commercial insurance experience from a role in corporate risk, underwriting, or a brokerage.
Exposure to management liability risks
Familiarity with cyber and technology risks
Experience with Microsoft Excel and data manipulation
Job Family Summary Defines and executes the enterprise risk management framework across the organization. Leads activity to balance risk and reward within the enterprise risk appetite. Provides business risk advice, information and results to functions across the organization to provide reasonable assurance regarding the achievement of strategic objectives.
Requires working knowledge and experience in own job discipline and broadens capabilities
Continues to build knowledge of the company, processes and customers
Performs a range of assignments related to job discipline
Uses prescribed guidelines or policies in analyzing situations
Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction
Responsible for execution of an Enterprise-wide corporate insurance strategy based on the identification, measurement and management of organizational risk and insurance needs.
First support, then build and leverage broker and carrier relationships to negotiate, implement, and monitors the effectiveness of American Family`s insurance and self-funded risk transfer mechanisms including the purchase and renewal process for all primary insurance contracts, including the application and bidding process through both direct and broker markets.
Review contract terms and conditions to conform to American Family`s Enterprise risk transfer requirements.
Actively monitors processes and tools consistent with enterprise view of risk and risk tolerance goals.
Assists with the oversight and coordination of loss control programs and policies throughout the organization.
Assists with the oversight and coordination of loss reporting for all corporate insurance policies including both external (e.g. property) and internal self- funded programs (e.g. fleet).
Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements:
Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
Basic knowledge and understanding of risk management techniques.
Broad knowledge and understanding of commercial insurance and industry trends.
Basic knowledge and understanding of financial analysis of insurance and non-insurance risk transfer proposals.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
