PBC Advisors, LLC is an Oak Brook Healthcare Accounting Firm seeking a Tax Accounting Manager.  Responsibilities include preparation of client’s corporate tax returns, personal tax returns, financial statement review and profit allocations.  Tax Accounting Manager will also oversee the preparation of monthly financial statements by staff accountants.  Additional responsibilities include: attending client meetings with Partners with the intent of growing into independent management of client accounts, assisting with valuations, proformas, feasibility studies and other analysis work.  We offer an excellent benefits package.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Obtains and maintains a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
• Ensures accurate and timely month end and year end closes
• Ensures the timely reporting of all monthly financial information
• Ensures bank compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner
• Monitors and analyzes clients’ work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
• Advises clients/staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions
• Responds to inquiries regarding financial transactions and any special reporting requests
• Ensures all tax compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner
• Prepares complex tax returns and tax research
• Reviews tax work of staff accountants
• Reviews tax information supplied by client
• Attends off-site client meetings as needed
• Responds to client inquiries
• Recognizes, anticipates and resolves tax issues; makes recommendations
• Markets Firm’s services to existing and prospective clients
• Meets productivity and efficiency standards (billable hours).
• Ensures all General Ledger activities are entered and completed on a timely manner
• Provides training to new and existing staff as needed
• Supports Partners with projects, as needed
• Maintains confidentiality of company and client information
• Reacts productively to change
• Performs other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or equivalent
• 5+ Years of Public Accounting Experience preferred
• CPA Certification a plus
• Prior experience with medical practices from a financial or tax perspective
• Working knowledge of tax code and tax regulations
• Thorough knowledge of general accounting theory
• Proficient in standard accounting software packages
• Excellent oral, written and human relations skills
• Demonstrate marketing and business development skills with the ability to close sales
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
• Willing to work evenings, weekends and overtime during peak periods
• Willing to travel to client’s sites within the Chicagoland area
