Not everyone gets the opportunity to work for a top hedge fund in New York City. ?? Generally, you???ll need to be in the top 5% of your peer group just to be considered. Then you???ll need to navigate a really tough interview process. ?? Then if you get the job, you???re going to find that at least some of it is pretty manual. No matter how established the fund is, chances are, the infrastructure won???t be great and you???ll fighting fires fairly regularly. The stakeholders are even more demanding than in banks and your average working day will be more intense (although not always longer).
