Access Energy Cooperative is seeking candidates for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) position. Reporting directly to the General Manager/CEO, this key leadership position influences decisions across the organization. The successful candidate will oversee financial functions, providing direction that supports the Cooperative’s mission of delivering efficient, reliable power to members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze general financial condition of the Cooperative.
Oversee/provide preparation, consultation and submission of financial data for management, the Board of Directors and membership.
Develop and implement financial practices which satisfy financial requirements and standards set forth by principal creditors and professional auditor.
Supervise preparation of financial reports and documentation required for the creditors and auditor.
Establish and maintain audit controls for financial activities to assure compliance with organizational plans, policies, and practices.
Provide financial management recommendations to General Manager/CEO.
Coordinate and prepare the annual budget to present to the Board of Directors; assist other Departments in the preparation of their respective budgets.
Complete and file Federal, State and local payroll tax and financial reports.
Supervise accounting and disbursement procedures.
Develop and implement short and long term financial plans including cash management.
Recommend strategies to obtain stated financial goals and assure adequate cash flows and working capital.
What you need/preferred to have:
Four year degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Management with Accounting & Finance emphasis, or equivalent required. Prefer related additional electric utility industry educational credits.
Five years experience in finance, accounting in the electric utility or related field. Supervisory experience in financial management areas.
Professional certification (CPA or CMA) preferred.
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
NISC (cooperative specific software) is preferred.
