Overview
The Director, Financial Aid & Enrollment Operations will work independently as a team member and leader with guidance from the Assistant Dean to design, implement and manage strategies around applications/admissions processes and student financial aid and scholarship programs for our entire academic portfolio and in alignment with our institutional goals. The Director will develop and implement the scholarship awarding strategy to attract top student talent and maximize yield. The Director will ensure compliance with University, federal, and state regulatory standards and laws regarding enrollment management and financial aid.Â

This position will: Develop and manage sophisticated financial aid regression models for best scholarship allocations within the annual budget and to maximize net tuition revenue. Maintain the annual budget by tracking and adjusting annual scholarship expenditure in collaboration with the Finance director and UDAR liaison. Process and track scholarship awards and offer updates to appropriate units, including UDAR annual reports. Coordinate with NYU's central Office of Financial Aid and Office of the Registrar with respect to dissemination of information related to and distribution of financial aid and relevant enrollment student records. Oversee student application portal and related processes for timely review and delivery. Evaluate applications for admission and serve as a member of the Admissions Committee, particularly as it relates to the awarding of NYU Wagner's institutional and named scholarship. Counsel incoming and continuing students on financial aid issues and maintain positive relations with all student financial services personnel at the University and with colleagues from other institutions. Oversee and update enrollment operations and financial aid processes, forms, and reports â“ among others â“ in Slate throughout the year. Develop and supervise administrative/professional, office and student support staff.

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience: 7+ years of professional-level experience at a university, including Admissions and/or Student Recruitment experience, or equivalent combination is required.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Must demonstrate excellent management, leadership, analytic, organizational, and communication skills. Demonstrated finance and budgeting skills. Proficiency in various data management applications (e.g. Slate, WordAccess, SQL, Excel) is required. Must have proven skills in troubleshooting technical errors related to data management systems.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Modeling financial aid and scholarship distribution scenarios and optimization of recruitment mix is preferred.
Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $107,305.00 to USD $130,000.00 New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
