Western Carolina University is the UNC systems westernmost campus and has been consistently ranked as one of the top 15 public regional institutions in the South.
Employees of WCU are provided a comprehensive benefits package as well as other resources, policies and programs to ensure a happy and healthy work/life balance. Benefit eligible employees have access to dental, vision and health insurance plans - eligibility begins on the first of the month following date of hire. The primary location of this position is on-site in Cullowhee, NC. This position is designated as being exempt from the State of North Carolina Human Resources Act (EHRA).

This position serves as an integral member of the Controllers Office and supports the Controller in the administration of essential accounting, financial reporting, and compliance functions for the University. The position is responsible for coordinating month-end close activities and ensuring timely Office of the State Controller certification, preparing the Universitys 1099 reporting, performing general ledger and operating fund reconciliations, conducting compliance testing, and assisting with the preparation of financial schedules and specialized reports for University leadership.

In addition, this position monitors state funds, supports recodes and cash transfers, and collaborates closely with the Budget Office, Capital, and campus stakeholders to promote accurate, compliant, and effective financial operations.
