The Opportunity:
The Finance/Budget Manager position serves the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication as the primary operator for all the financial functions of the College. This position manages the support functions for the college including grants, payroll, major purchases, travel, service operations, and course fee oversight. This position leads the fiscal analysis, review, and reconciliation of the college's summer session operation. The individual in this position must be able to use independent judgment to analyze problems and implement solutions.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time (100% FTE), permanent position. Overtime eligibility will be determined based on final salary placement.
Monthly Salary:
$4,942.10 - $7,569.55 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field, and four (4) years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified which has included at least one (1) year of supervisory experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Demonstrated knowledge of complex budget/accounting processes.
Experience with various financial activities such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, travel, personnel, cost analysis and budget planning.
Experience supervising and leading staff.
Experience in developing and utilizing financial templates, such as spreadsheets, databases and customized financial reports.
Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite and financial databases.
Demonstrated effective leadership and organizational skills.
Experience working with federal and state regulations pertaining to fiscal and administrative management.
Demonstrated excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with higher education or state agency financial policies and procedures.
Familiarity with public broadcasting accounting methods.
Experience with an online enterprise accounting system. Workday preferred.
Experience working with service centers, establishing course fees, and working with contracts.
Experience creating financial reports for an external audit.
Demonstrated strong analytical, financial planning, and reporting skills.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a diverse environment.
