The purpose of this position is to provide comprehensive financial aid and Veterans Administration (VA) information and application procedures to the College community and provide general administrative support to the financial aid office including Military & Veterans Services. This is accomplished by providing complete and accurate information; keeping abreast of federal, state and VA programs; and maintaining knowledge of college policies and procedures. Other duties may include preparing and monitoring State waivers for disability, office forms, faxes, chat, email and phone calls
This is a non-exempt staff position
Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.

Required Education:
High school diploma or GED
Required Experience:
A minimum of one year of experience with Federal Financial Aid Programs and/or the administration of Veterans Benefits.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Familiar with large databases and/ or student information's systems
Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, noisy environment with frequent interruptions, while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
